Scratch-Off Remaining Prizes

When one plays the lottery, one plays to win the jackpot. However, a reliable news source determined out that some games in New Jersey can never be won. For instance, the state lottery's "Bingo Times 10" states right on the card the grand prize is $150 thousand; however there is presently no way to win NJ lottery scratch off remaining prizes.

When a certain reporter went to purchase a ticket in a New Jersey shop, that reporter was told, "Good Luck!" However, no measure of luck can ever help in winning the grand prize as the prize is already gone. The ticket the reporter purchases had no way at all to win the $150,000 grand prize, no luck in winning even $50,000 or zero winning chance of $10,000 as such prizes had already been "won." It was discovered that many other NJ lottery scratch off remaining prizes for sale had jackpots, which were already won. Yet tickets were still being sold.

Indeed, it's shocking and seems unfair to sell those tickets with the jackpots already taken. The NJ lottery posts information on each scratch off game on its website. Thus, one can check what awards have been won on a scratch card before a player buys it. If one plays, it is often wise to check the information because the news source uncovered a lot of games posted on the NJ lottery site that indicate no more jackpot points remaining.

Why is the NJ lottery still selling tickets? An NJ lottery spokesman says that once the grand prize is won, the lottery tells its retailers to not sell any more tickets. Instead, the lottery tells them to send the unused packages back to the NJ lottery. However, retailers are allowed to sell what remains of a roll, which has already been opened. The NJ lottery also disclosed that on such games the news source found, there could no longer be any top level prizes left. Yet, a lot of opportunities are still open for players to win certain NJ lottery scratch off remaining prizes.

It's a different story in the Big Apple where the scratch off system is better for players. An NY lottery spokesman tells the source that once the grand prize is won in a single game, the NY lottery informs sellers through computers to instantly cease selling the game. That includes the opened rolls. Agents of NY lottery also go around the stores and actually remove the tickets from the shelves.

A New Jersey statement says the NJ lottery reviews its instant ticket game and changed the system to make sure that the selling of tickets stops upon retrieving the last winning top level ticket in a scratch off game.

The statement adds that the NJ lottery changed its website and improved its 800 number for aiding the players in reviewing the games before purchasing. Their site is updated every day to reflect claiming of the upper-tier and top-tier tickets. Such information is also relayed to its retailers, also. Thus, betting in New Jersey can sometimes be risky if one is not aware of information disseminated.
